As practising Christians my wife and I have been regular members of and worshippers at our local parish church for around thirty five years. I am therefore including a few details of the church and a link to the church website.
The Priory Church is a Grade One Listed Building and dates from 1139. It is a thriving and very friendly and welcoming church. For more information about services and other activities please visit our church website which also includes a brief history of the church and recent editions of the parish magazine. Better still, if you are in the area, why not visit the church?
During our time as members of the church we have both been actively involved in various ways and for around twenty of those years I was choirmaster. I was fortunate that my predecessor had built up a very good choir and since then we have also benefited from having had a succession of talented organists. As a result we have been able to sing a wide range of often very demanding music. My wife and I still sing in the choir and I am sometimes called upon to conduct various items in services.
I served for a time as churchwarden and for many years was a member of the PCC. I was also webmaster for several years and still edit the monthly parish magazine, Priory News.
